Advertisement placement sizes and technical specifications

Placement sizes adhere to an industry standard size.

Flash and animated GIFs are permitted but animations may only loop a maximum of two times.

Wandsworth Council also wishes to ensure that flash advertising and some other rich media forms are sufficiently accessible. Excessive animation or fast moving or difficult to read text is therefore to be avoided and any advertisements which would clearly cause either irritation to fully sighted visitors or difficulties to partially sighted visitors will not be permitted.

In addition, rapidly changing or strobing animation or 'flashing' images are not to be used for advertising as strobing artificial light may trigger seizures for people prone to photosensitive epilepsy.

Video and audio advertising is not currently permitted.

Unit, size and border requirements

Online ready graphics should be supplied in the correct size - 728 pixels wide by 90 pixels high. These should be supplied in either JPG, GIF or PNG formats. See our guidance on accessibility and the use of animation.

File size should be no more than 80kb and any text should be clear and legible.
