Roehampton Christmas light switch on

Come along to watch the Christmas light switch on in Roehampton. The festive lights will be officially switched on by the Mayor of Wandsworth at 4pm.

      • 3.30pm - Nolita Golding (local salsa singer) leads modern Christmas songs
      • 3.45pm - Local school children arrive with lanterns
      • 4pm - Lights switch on
      • 4.10pm - Claire Doran (local opera singer) leads traditional Christmas songs.

Events taking place on Friday 1 December.

Furzedown Christmas light switch on

Celebrate the start of December with the Christmas light switch on in Furzedown. The event will include performances by choirs from local primary schools and an adult community choir, Christmas crafts, face painting, a Santa's Grotto, and free mince pies and hot chocolate at St Alban's Church. The festive lights will be officially switched on by the Mayor of Wandsworth at 4pm.

Putney School of Art and Design - Christmas open day and fair

Over 30 arts and crafts stalls by local artisans, refreshments and live music.

Battersea Square Christmas light switch on

Celebrate the festive season with the Christmas light switch on in Battersea Square. The event will include music by St Mary's Brass Band and singing by the choirs of St Mary's Church, Westbridge School, and St John Bosco College. The event will also feature community stalls selling cakes and crafts. The festive lights will be officially switched on at 6.45pm.

Christmas Carols at Embassy Gardens

Award-winning music academy World Heart Beat opens the doors to its concert hall at Embassy Gardens.

This festive celebration will feature singing and performances from World Heart Beat’s very own line-up of young musical talent, as well as a complimentary drink and mince pies.  

Wednesday 6 December

Balham Bedford Hill Christmas lights switch on

Join locals in Balham to watch the Christmas lights switch on. Entertainment will be provided by Riverside Radio and carol singers from local churches and schools. The festive lights will be officially switched on at 5pm.

Southfields Christmas lights switch on

Get into the Christmas mood, and come along to the festive lights switch on in Southfields. The Christmas lights will be officially switched on by AELTC Chair, Deborah Jevans CBE at 6pm.

  • Time: 4.30 to 6pm
      • 4pm - Opening by the Mayor of Wandsworth
      • 4.35 to 5pm - Performances by Riversdale, Sheringdale and St Michael’s CE School choirs
      • 5.15 to 6pm - Performance by Southfields Academy Musical Collective
  • Location: Replingham Road (outside Krystals Express food market)

Tooting Church Lane Christmas light switch on and Christmas fair

Step into Christmas in the Yard... complete with a Christmas fair, the Tooting Christmas tree lights switch-on, live music, and performances. The festive lights will be officially switched on by the Mayor of Wandsworth at 4.30pm.

The Christmas fair stalls will be selling Christmas gifts, decorations, art, candles, children’s toys, and more!

Friday 8 December

Events taking place on Friday 8 December.

Bellevue Road Christmas light switch on

Join locals in Bellevue Road to watch the switch on the festive lights. Carols will be sung by Trinity Road Chapel and Finton School. Hot Chocolate will be provided by Trinity Road Chapel. The festive lights will be officially switched on at 4.30pm.

Christmas coffee morning and table top sale

Get into the festive spirit with a Christmas coffee morning and table top sale at Earlsfield Baptist Church.

You can call 020 8644 8209 to book a table for the sale. The event is free, but we suggest donating 10% of your takings to the Earlsfield Baptist Church.

St Mary Magdalene Church's Christmas Tree Festival

Come and see over 25 Christmas trees, sponsored and decorated by local organisations, clubs and families. There will also be market stalls, mulled wine, mince pies and activities for kids, who also get a free gift from Santa!
