General advice, guidance and resources for care providers
Current coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance for adult social care has been published.
All providers in Wandsworth are asked to familiarise themselves with this guidance and check regularly for updates. We expect all providers to ensure they are compliant with the recommended infection control measures.
If you are a member of the public please follow the advice on the NHS website and view the Council's COVID-19 pages.
Vaccinating frontline social care workers
Adult social workers can read the latest guidance and a letter launching the vaccination programme to ensure that all frontline social care workers who have close personal contact with those who are clinically vulnerable to COVID-19 are vaccinated.
Hospital discharge policy
The Hospital discharge policy has recently been published and replaces 'coronavirus (COVID-19) hospital discharge service requirements' published on 19 March 2020. This document sets out how health and care systems can ensure that people:
- Are discharged safely from hospital to the most appropriate place.
- Continue to receive the care and support they need after they leave hospital.
The Mental Capacity Act (2005) (MCA) and deprivation of liberty safeguards (DoLS)
The government has published recent updates to guidance for MCA and DoLS during the COVID-19 pandemic. Providers need to be aware of these documents which pertain to caring for, or treating, a person who lacks the relevant mental capacity during the COVID-19 outbreak.
