The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Micro-Grant Fund

To commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen's accession to the throne, a £20,000 Queen's Platinum Jubilee Micro-Grant Fund is available for local groups to apply to.

This Jubilee fund is aimed at supporting events and activities that bring residents of Wandsworth together as we honour and celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service over the four-day Jubilee Bank Holiday from 2 to 5 June 2022.

Available grants

Voluntary and community organisations can apply for grants of between £250 to £500 to run inclusive, creative events and activities or apply for grants of up to £1,000 to deliver larger projects that create a legacy, commemorating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee for years to come. For example, producing a community mural or enhancing a public space or garden. To access Jubilee funds your project must also have other additional funding or in-kind donations.

Jubilee planning at Buckingham Palace is well underway and we welcome applications that enable people to come together and join in with the national celebrations happening up and down the country over the Jubilee Bank Holiday from 2 to 5 June 2022.

We also want to hear about your creative ideas and learn about the innovative ways you plan to bring different groups of people together to celebrate this auspicious, landmark occasion. Application deadline is Monday 23 May 2022.

You need to apply as a constituted organisation (not as an individual) and be one of the following organisation types:

  • Registered charity
  • Registered Community Interest Company (CIC)
  • Registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)
  • Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee, or other type of Charitable Constituted Group

Jubilee micro-grants will be allocated on a rolling basis until the funds are exhausted with no set deadline. We will aim for applicants to be notified of the success (or not) of their application within ten working days, depending on demand.

Street closures

We are keen to receive applications from across our diverse borough as we come together upon our estates, down our streets, within our care homes, on-site at community halls and gather in our wonderful green spaces and parks. We are waiving the street party fee for Jubilee Celebrations (normally costing £60). Find out more about street parties.

We would encourage all applicants to consider inviting the Mayor of Wandsworth to attend your local event or legacy activity.

Application requirements

Applicants are required to have in place in-kind or match funding towards their event or activity, for example hall hire fee waived, food or equipment donated or volunteer hours given. You will be asked to provide a full cost breakdown of the planned activity.

All applicants will be required to confirm that they have in place the following:

  • A Constitution or Governing document
  • Public Liability Insurance covering the period of activity
  • A Children and Vulnerable Adults Safeguarding Policy
  • An associated bank account which requires at least two un-associated signatures for withdrawals. Successful applicants will be asked to provide a bank statement from the last three months before the grant payment is paid

Although we aim to keep the application process as short as possible, we reserve the right to request further information appropriate to any activity if this is deemed helpful in the assessment of an application.

Reporting back on your activity

Grant recipients will be asked to provide evidence of the activity taking place in the form of photographs, social media updates, local newspaper articles or a written report if preferred.

You must state if consent has been given by individuals shown in any photographs for us to use in publicity. Forms will be provided to successful applicants for this purpose.
