Wandsworth Council's jobs team are urgently recruiting temporary staff to work at St George's Hospital in Tooting.
Update: Due to a fantastic response rate, this opportunity is temporarily on hold as Work Match process candidates.
The roles of Healthcare Assistants will be to assist frontline healthcare with COVID-19 patients, carrying out routine tasks and other duties to support the qualified nursing workforce.
No experience is required, however St George's are looking for applicants with a caring nature who are prepared to work in a variety of healthcare roles and can start as soon as possible.
This recruitment drive for St George's is the latest large-scale task under way for Work Match. The jobs brokerage team are working hard to place local residents into new jobs after being made redundant or losing their jobs as a result of COVID-19.
Councillor Jonathan Cook, Wandsworth Council’s spokesman for employment said: “We are proud to be able to help St George’s Hospital wherever possible at this crucial time. These temporary healthcare jobs will add vital capacity to our local hospital as they battle to treat people and save lives during this health crisis. I ask people to consider if they are able to help their local NHS healthcare system and step forward as soon as possible if they can.
“I would also like to thank the council’s Work Match team who are working so hard to match local residents to new jobs as coronavirus is affecting so many people in different ways.”
Work Match is also looking for more local employers who have vacancies and need staff urgently, as they have a register of local candidates with training or experience who are ready to work.
