Leader reminds residents about Wandsworth Community Hub
Published: Friday, March 27, 2020
The leader of Wandsworth Council Cllr Ravi Govindia is reminding people who need support that they can contact the council's new Community Hub
The Hub It is a first response for residents, particularly those people who are elderly and/or vulnerable without support networks, who need support to access medical/care services and food supplies. It is designed to help those most in need stay safe and well while they self-isolate at home.
Councillor Govindia has written to residents to ensure everyone, including people without online access, know about the Hub. In the letter he said:
"This continues to be a challenging time for everyone as we come to terms with the challenge of finding new ways of living, working and behaving. This is why we have set up the Community Hub so please make a note of the helpline telephone number and the email address to use when needed.
“The helpline is for anyone in need of support or who has a question regarding coronavirus. However, it is particularly important for those who are elderly or vulnerable.
“So if you need help please do not hesitate to pick up the phone or send an email; we have a team of volunteers and staff who can assist you.”
“I want to thank again everyone from across Wandsworth who continues to do such a fantastic job, day in day out, to support our communities.
“Please continue to look after yourselves and follow Government and NHS advice if you feel unwell. And remember your council is here to help. We are all in this together and together we will get through this.”
For all medical enquiries please continue to contact the NHS on 111.nhs.uk or on 111.
