Battersea Park summer events kick off this weekend

A summer of activities in Battersea Park starts this weekend with a chance to scale the heights, ride the waves and enjoy a spot of tea.

On every Saturday and Sunday in June Battersea Park will be hosting a different activity which all the family can enjoy. First up is the arrival of the Climbing Wall and Surfing Simulator on Saturday, June 1 from 10am to 6pm around the Bowling Green. On dry land a number of other fun activities will be taking place including face painting. Food and drink will be served – as they will be every Saturday and Sunday in June - in the Bowling Green from 11am to 8.30pm. Prices start at £3.

The following day, Sunday, June 2, the mood switches as you are invited to the delights of Afternoon Tea at the Bandstand. Take a break from the cares of modern life in the beautiful Victorian bandstand and treat someone special to a tasty tea between noon and 4pm. Tables are available for up to an hour. To book go to

It’s all part of the council’s celebration of its great parks under the #LoveParksWandsworth banner, which will see more than 250 park-related events taking place in Wandsworth’s parks until the end of September.
