At the end of the first day of Covid-19 testing at the town hall, Wandsworth Council leader Cllr Ravi Govindia has been reflecting on the borough’s response to Coronavirus and has thanked local people for following social distancing rules.
People with symptoms such as a high temperature or cough have been visiting the pop up testing centre in the town hall car park since 9.30am to find out if they have the virus.
The centre will also be open tomorrow (Saturday) and is open to symptomatic essential workers, people over 65 with symptoms and some other categories of people. If you want the test you must book an appointment online. Find out more.
As the UK comes to the end of its sixth week in lockdown, Cllr Govindia highlighted the council’s work to support local people, including grants for the voluntary sector and the Wandsworth Community Hub, a one-stop contact centre for people who need help.
Cllr Govindia said: “We will come through this. Thank you to everyone who has helped us do that.”
