Wandsworth Council’s Lifelong Learning team is running free workshops during September as part of national Have a Go Month.
The one-off workshops include help with public speaking and communication skills, creative writing and IT. In addition, one of the UK’s leading food industry experts Jane Milton will be sharing her top tips on eating a plant-based diet as well as leading a session on Enterprise.
Cabinet member for economic development, skills and employment, Councillor Rhodri Morgan said: "We are really pleased to offer such a diverse range of learning opportunities in the borough. There is an extensive number of accredited and non- accredited courses to choose from, delivered directly by our Lifelong Learning team and commissioned partners. The Have a Go month offer is a tremendous way of trying and learning something new.”
The Lifelong Learning team offers an extensive range of community learning courses, apprenticeships, and other accredited qualifications.
This includes personal development and employability courses, management qualifications, apprenticeships in business, health and social care, childcare and becoming a teaching assistant.
Lifelong Learning also runs free English as a second language and English and maths courses leading to a recognised qualification, making it easier to get a job, pass citizenship tests or just live daily life.
The service has recently updated its Lifelong Learning Guide
