Support to make you more employable

Find out now about schemes starting next month to brush up your skills and get supported into employment.

Room for Work is designed for skilled workers aged 40 and over. It includes workshops to help you master new skills or develop existing ones, and will teach you techniques to make you more employable. You’ll need a good working knowledge of the English language, basic computer skills and the use of a PC, laptop or tablet.

There will be 12 sessions on Wednesday and Thursday mornings for six weeks. The course begins on April 21.

The Career Transition Programme is for people  who have been recently made redundant or at risk of redundancy. It will teach you skills including how to define personal and career goals, create action plans, develop an effect CV, improve your self-confidence, understand your transferable skill and how to prepare for interviews. You will need use of a PC, laptop or tablet.

There will be seven sessions over a two-week period starting on April 21.

The STRIDE - Talent Development Programme focuses on on enabling disadvantaged and underrepresented groups to access employment, training and supported career progression in the growing creative and tech sector including web development, marketing, tech eco system /design, filmmaking, art directing and copy writing.  Opportunities include  apprenticeships, internships, pre-apprenticeship training, paid work experience and training.
