Pick-up a book and a COVID-19 test at a local library
Published: Wednesday, May 26, 2021
It’s easier than ever to access COVID-19 home testing kits as three libraries in Wandsworth will be handing out home tests from 1 June.
In a bid to keep COVID-19 out of the borough, and identify those who have the virus and do not display any symptoms, all residents can access rapid lateral flow tests from a number of local locations – including libraries.
There are several ways that you can access a test if you don’t have COVID-19 symptoms:
Collect a home test at a local library
Testing kits will be available from 1 June at the libraries in Battersea, Tooting, and Wandsworth. See here for their opening hours
Book a supervised test at a local pharmacy
23 local pharmacies across Wandsworth are offering supervised tests. This service is available for anyone aged 18 years and above. Appointments must be booked in advance. Operating hours vary between pharmacies. Book at test at a local pharmacy
Collect a home test locally
This includes local pharmacies or PCR testing centres. Find your nearest location
Order them online for free
For people who can’t collect tests from a local site, you can order a box of tests online, or through 119, which will be delivered to your home. Order a test
Cllr Ravi Govindia, Leader of Wandsworth Council, said: “It’s great news that you can now access COVID-19 tests at public libraries, making it easier than ever for those that live and work in Wandsworth to access home testing kits. It is vital that we all get tested twice a week to limit the spread of COVID-19.
“Home testing kits are quick and easy to use and they help us protect our local communities. Now, when you are visiting one of our participating libraries – don’t just pick up a book, pick up a test!”
