Join Wandsworth in celebrating foster parents this Foster Care Fortnight  

Foster Care Fortnight is an annual campaign created by the Fostering Network to raise the profile of fostering and highlight the transformative impact of foster care on children’s lives. 

The council’s fostering team will be out around the borough giving out information and answering questions at the following locations: 

  • Wednesday 17th May - Waitrose supermarket, Balham 
  • Thursday 18th May - Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth (outside H&M) 
  • Friday 19th May - ASDA supermarket, Clapham Junction 
  • Monday 22nd May - Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth (outside H&M) 
  • Tuesday 23rd May - Sainsburys supermarket, Nine Elms 
  • Thursday 25th May - Putney Exchange Shopping Centre 
  • Friday 26th May - Putney Exchange Shopping centre 

You can attend a fostering recruitment information event at Wandsworth Town Hall on 16th May from 10am-11.30pm and 25th May from 6pm to 8pm. Go to the Marble Hall Reception and wait to be collected.

And local people are also invited to join the team and local foster parents on a Foster Walk around Battersea Park on Saturday 20th May. Meet at the Bandstand just before 11am.  

Kate Stock, cabinet member for children, said: “Foster parents make a real difference by giving a child a secure, stable, supporting home. Please come along to one of the events to find out if a career as a foster parent is for you.”
