The Wandsworth Enterprise Hub is a new online portal signposting local business owners to support programmes and events run in Wandsworth by the council or its partners. Current programmes include Wandsworth Foodies for food businesses, Online Business Bootcamp for creatives and monthly one-to-one business advice clinics.
Global Enterprise Week on November 18-22 is a collection of tens of thousands of events, activities and competitions each November that inspire millions to explore their potential as an entrepreneur while fostering connections and increasing collaboration. To mark the week in Wandsworth, a series of advice events are being held.
To kick off the week, Nick Howe, Enterprise manager for NatWest, will be running a free business advice clinic for local entrepreneurs. Book your place to have an informal and confidential chat about your business ambitions, challenges or concerns at a free 45 minute session.
Come to a free taster session, plus drinks and networking of OneTech’s new entrepreneur and enterprise support programme. OneTech is expanding to increase the support provided for aspiring tech entrepreneurs and digitally enabled start-ups in Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Wandsworth. The launch event is on November 19.
There’s also lots of support available for the borough’s women entrepreneurs. StepUp Wandsworth on November 20 and 21 is a free two-day programme. Delivered by Virgin Start Up it includes a series of workshops and networking opportunities to help founders develop the skills and knowledge they need in order to take their business to the next level.
StepUp has been designed to focus on the areas of business from which founders will get the most value including sales, funding and investment. Over the course of the two days, participants will hear from a host of expert speakers and entrepreneurs who have successfully scaled their start-ups in the last few years.
Also supporting female business owners in Wandsworth, BOSS (Business Owner Strategy Support) is led by Planet Organic founder Renée Elliott and executive life coach Sam Wigan – the co-founders of business and life skills academy Beluga Bean.
Launching in January 2020, the BOSS programme includes monthly breakfast workshops on topics ranging from vision and values to customers and competition to communication and creativity. conversations and online courses on business and life skills, led by experienced mentors. This programme is part funded by Wandsworth Council. The cost for the entire four month programme is £80 for female entrepreneurs based in Wandsworth and £100 for those outside of the borough. The price includes – all workshops, online sessions, mentoring and breakfast refreshments.
