Get involved in arts youth panel
Published: Thursday, November 21, 2019
Aged 14-21 with a passion for arts, culture and creativity? Join the new Wandsworth Creative Youth Panel.
The panel aims to ensure young people help shape and develop arts and cultural events, projects and opportunities for young people.
The panel will initially be in place for a year and will meet four times a year, plus virtual meetings on specific projects. Members will get a chance to meet, learn from and be mentored by professional local artists and have access to opportunities including attending events, shows and exhibitions.
The panel will be funded by Creative Wandsworth, the borough’s Cultural Education Partnership. This is led by the council’s arts team in partnership with around 25 local organisations including Battersea Arts Centre, Chocolate Films, Royal College of Art, Theatre 503 and the Wandsworth School Improvement Team. It’s funded by A New Direction, with match funding from Wandsworth Council.
For the Creative Youth Panel, Creative Wandsworth is working in collaboration with youth engagement organisation The Participation People, who also work with the Wandsworth Youth Council.
To be eligible you must live, study or work in Wandsworth and have a real interest in and passion for any aspect of the arts, including music, drama, poetry, visual art or any other medium.
If you are interested, fill in the online form by December 8.
