Apply now to the Wandsworth Grant Fund
Published: Thursday, October 17, 2019
The next round of the Wandsworth Grant Fund is now open for applications.
Wandsworth-based community and voluntary groups are invited to bid for grants between £500 and £10,000 for local projects that will benefit the residents of the borough. The deadline to apply to round 13 is November 25. Applications will be especially welcome that support the council’s Environment and Sustainability Strategy.
Organisations based outside the borough are welcome also to apply, but need to show evidence of real engagement with local partners and the council teams in order to avoid duplication of work.
A series of Meet the funder events will be held in the coming weeks to provide information on how to apply to the Wandsworth Grant Fund and what sort of projects are eligible
- October 24, 10am- 12.30pm: Roehampton Base, Danebury Avenue
- October 30, 2pm-4.30pm, Balham Community Centre, Bedford Road
- November 7, 5.30pm-7pm, Caius House, Holman Road, Battersea
The Roehampton event will also be a chance to meet representatives of the Big Lottery Fund, for projects that require more than £10,000 or for capital works such as buildings or playgrounds.
The Wandsworth Grant Fund funds projects under these council priorities:
- Arts and Culture
- Environment and Attractive Neighbourhoods
- Children and Young People
- Citizenship and Civic Engagement
- Achieving Aspirations and Potential
- Health and Well being
One team administers the grants process while evaluation and assessment is undertaken by a group of specialist council officers. Applications also receive a high level of scrutiny by councillors to ensure money is going where it is most needed and will have most benefit for the borough’s residents.
In total £319,000 has been earmarked by the council in 2019/20 for the Wandsworth Grant Fund, including £20,000 for the Wandsworth Arts Fringe. In June this year a range of projects were awarded money, including projects to inspire young people and help communities get together.
