A public consultation is now underway into the merits of the scheme which has been drawn up in response to residents’ concerns about parked vehicles reducing the width of the carriageway and obstructing sightlines in West Drive and North Drive.

The proposed safety improvements would see the introduction of double yellow lines on the bend where West Drive meets North Drive and the introduction of double yellow lines at the junction of North Drive with Aldrington Road.

The scheme would also result in the removal of one parking space near the existing informal pedestrian crossing in North Drive at its junction with Colson Way. There would also be changes to the footway build-outs at this location.

The consultation continues until December 2.
