The sixth annual Tootopia festival celebrating local food, drink and culture starts on Friday (Sep 20).
The three-day festival takes places at venues across the town. Highlights include exhibitions, workshops, a launch party at Tooting Tram, loads of live music, tours of hidden Tooting and the Granada Theatre (pictured below), comedy, local history talks, cocktail masterclasses, a handmade market, Tooting’s largest pub garden, a jumble trail a retro gaming all-dayer and events at pubs, restaurants, markets and bars.
Hunt out new flavours with the Foodie Trail or go on the Thirst Quest visiting the area’s best-loved juice bars, bottle shops and breweries. The Streetfood Takeover features local traders and after 6pm turns late night with fire pits and circus performers.
Kids can enjoy the Tooting Play Street, a chocolate-making workshop, a dance class, sushi making, a family rave, cookery classes and an aqua run at Tooting Leisure Centre
Tootopia is organised by Antic London with support from Wandsworth Council. Many events are free but some will incur a fee– see the Tootopia website for details.
