Wandsworth Council is launching Startup Wandsworth - a series of free programmes and events to help local entrepreneurs start a business or grow their existing one. The first online events are run jointly with Virgin Startup in October

October 1: Is a Start up Loan right for you? Book here

This session run jointly with Virgin Startup Is a chance to learn more about the government’s Start-up Loan scheme, find out how it can benefit your business and how its 1-1 mentoring and advice can help you get the most out of the funding.

October 13: Start-Up Wandsworth. Book here

This is an exclusive online programme aimed at people thinking of starting a business and those who have recently done so. Half day sessions will cover topics including:

  • What it takes to be a founder
  • how to test your idea with very little money
  • how to plan your business finance and engage with your ideal customer

Cabinet member for skills and employment Cllr Aled Richards-Jones said: "It’s crucial that we do all we can to support new businesses - as the pre-eminent borough for small businesses, they form the backbone of our local economy.

"Harnessing the borough’s entrepreneurial spirit will be key to getting the borough back on its feet post-Covid, and these programmes and events provide practical insight and support for those looking to start a business or grow their existing one.”
