Warm homes pack letter text

Dear Resident,

FREE Warm Home Packs Available to Wandsworth Residents

Collect a pack from Wandsworth Town Library (9 Courthouse Way, Wandsworth, London, SW18 4QG) on Thursday 25th September, between 1-6:30pm.

Please bring this letter with you to collect your warm pack.

We are writing to you because we believe you are eligible to receive a FREE Warm Home Pack. This pack will support you in heating your home during the upcoming colder months whilst improving your home’s energy efficiency. The Council has funded the distribution of warm packs in response to the cost-of-living crisis and increased costs of heating homes to a good standard. We have improved the contents of the packs from previous years to offer homes more savings, estimated to save the average household around £250 per year.

The pack will include:

  • Draught excluders– to reduce heat lost through windows & doors
  • Letterbox brush- to reduce heat loss through your letterbox which lets out a lot of heat
  • Smart plug- reduces electricity use by setting times for appliances to turn off
  • Radiator key-when you bleed your radiator, you make your heating system more efficient
  • Shower timer- cut down the time you spend in the shower to reduce the gas needed to heat the water
  • Cistern bag- insert into your toilet cistern, save 1-2 litres of water every time you flush

FREE additional support to help heat your home and reduce your energy bills.

You are also eligible for a FREE more in-depth service in addition to the FREE Warm Home Pack. This will involve a home visit from one of the team at SW Leap who will assess what other measures would be helpful in your home such as boiler jackets and radiator foils. These measures will then be provided to you FREE of charge through SW Leap and their home visit service. Please contact info@swleap.org.uk to request a home visit.

The distribution of these Warm Home Packs is part of our wider aim to support residents through the colder months and will be offered alongside other schemes such as home visits and advice from our partners at SW Leap, who are experts in helping local people cut their energy costs. If you have any further questions about the Warm Home Packs please contact TogetherOnClimateChange@Wandsworth.gov.uk or for more information on what kinds of support are available, please contact info@swleap.org.uk.

We will be hosting a launch event for the distribution of the warm packs at Wandsworth Town Library (9 Courthouse Way, Wandsworth, London, SW18 4QG) on Thursday 25th September, between 1-6:30pm. We will be handing out the packs and will also be available to answer any questions you may have about saving money on your energy bills.

At the launch event, we will also be offering FREE high-quality, second-hand coats for young children aged 0-5 years (until very limited stock runs out). The coats are kindly provided by Little Village, a locally based baby bank.

If you are unable to make the launch event, you will be able to collect a Warm Home Pack from Monday 29th September at these locations (until stocks run out):
