Lennox Estate, SW15
Scheme name and address
Lennox Estate, SW15.
Description
We’re looking at building new council rent homes on the northern part of the Lennox Estate. This will mean:
- New homes will be for council rent and existing residents of Lennox Estate in housing need or looking to downsize will be given priority for allocation of the new homes
- No net loss of open space
- Introduction of controlled parking in order to prevent non-estate residents from parking on the estate. Free permits to be provided for existing estate residents
- Improvements to walking and cycling routes - to better connect different part of the estate together
- Improved lighting across the estate, making routes and open spaces feel safer
- Enhancements to open and green spaces across the estate
- Make underused spaces around the estate greener and more playful
- Improvements to play facilities to meet the needs of children of different ages, backgrounds and needs
- Manage flooding and puddling on roads and public spaces through landscaping intervention
News
We would like to thank those residents who attended the November engagement event and provided the design team with feedback.
The next steps are that the project team will continue to develop proposals for new homes and wider estate improvements ahead of a submission for Planning Permission in 2025. Designs will aim to respond to residents’ feedback and residents will be provided with further update on this in due course.
