Request a rent refund
If your rent account is in credit and we owe you overpaid rent, then you can request a refund.
Before you start
You can request a rent refund if you are a:
- Current tenant
- Former tenant
- Representative acting on behalf of a tenant
A refund can be paid into your own bank account or into a nominated third party account.
If you want a refund to be paid into a third party account, you need to provide authorisation from the tenant.
You will need
You will need:
- Tenancy address
- Rent account number
- Names of all tenants
- Permission from other tenants
- Bank or building society account details
- Building society roll number (if you have one)
What happens next
We carry out audit checks to ensure the correct amount is refunded to you. Your refund will be made after these checks have been completed.
If your refund is approved, it will be processed as soon as possible. This is usually within four to six weeks, to allow time for necessary checks to be completed.
Request a paper form
If you cannot use an online form, you can request a paper form from rents@wandsworth.gov.uk.
To help us identify you as a tenant, please provide your name and rent account number.
A form will be emailed or posted back to you. Completed paper forms should be returned via post or email to:
