School in Bloom
Schools across Wandsworth can enter this special category. Whether you’ve created a pollinator paradise, planted a colourful courtyard, built raised beds for food growing, or transformed a forgotten corner into a mini wildlife haven, this category celebrates school communities that are making Wandsworth greener, brighter and better for nature.
We’re looking for school gardens that show:
- Pupils leading the way (hands on planting, watering, designing, wildlife monitoring, or growing food)
- A clear nature story (habitats, native plants, pollinators, composting, water wise gardening)
- Creativity and joy (colour, design, imaginative themes, 'wow factor')
- Pride and care (the space looks loved, used and maintained)
- Learning in action (how growing links to wellbeing, curriculum, clubs or student projects)
This is your chance to show how your school is helping Wandsworth bloom, one seed, one planter and one wildlife patch at a time.
Open to all schools in the borough (nursery, primary, secondary, special schools).
Entries can include gardens, courtyards, planters, raised beds, green walls, wildlife areas, school allotments, outdoor classrooms and community facing spaces.

The following categories will be available to only tenants and leaseholders in council-managed buildings:
- Best Community Facility Garden - Group entry for estate community facility gardens and similar places. Must contain native plants
