Wandsworth Grant Fund FAQs

On this page we have answered some questions we are often asked about the Wandsworth Grant Fund.

Can we apply in partnership with other groups?

Yes, you can apply with other voluntary groups as well as other non-voluntary sector groups i.e. statutory partners. If applying with non-voluntary sector groups, the charity must be the lead partner.

We are a registered charity set up less than a year ago. Can we apply for funding?

To apply for funding you must be able to demonstrate at least 12 months of operational activity by providing yearly accounts or equivalent financial records. If you cannot provide these you can still apply with a more established partner organisation. The partner organisation will need to lead the application.

Do project activities need to take place in Wandsworth?

We expect most activities will take place within the borough, but there are some exceptions, for example residential trips.

Can we apply for funding for an existing project or service?

Yes. In the past, Wandsworth Grant Fund applicants were not allowed to apply for previously funded projects and existing activity/services were considered to be a lower priority. However you can now apply for an existing project or service.

For Innovation and Growth projects, you will need to demonstrate alignment with our innovation and growth criteria, by showing how you intend to scale up activity and or spread to new communities.

For Multi-Year applications, you will need to demonstrate that the project has been in delivery for at least six months. We cannot fund new or pilot projects with this fund.

For Multi-Year funding we must demonstrate six months of operational delivery - what does that actually mean?

To award Multi-Year funding, we need to be confident that the project is already proven, has been successfully delivered before, and is likely to continue effectively for the full duration of the funding period.

Can we apply to both types of fund?

You may submit one application per fund per round. However, some restrictions apply for organisations who currently have a Wandsworth Grant Fund grant.

If you have an Innovation and Growth grant, you can apply again one year after the date of your last successful application. If your current project is still running when you apply, any new grant offer will include a condition that you must finish your existing project and submit your end of project report before starting the new one.

If you have a Multi-Year grant, you may apply for an Innovation and Growth grant once your multi-year project has finished and your end of project report has been submitted. However, you cannot apply for another Multi-Year grant until 12 months after the end date recorded in that report.

Can we apply to more than one round per year?

You can submit an application to each round of funding, until you are successful. Once you have received a grant, specific rules apply. You cannot hold more than one Wandsworth Grant Fund at a time. Read more about our restrictions on funding
