Yellow rain warnings issued by the Met Office are in place until 11:59pm tonight (November 2) and yellow wind warnings are in place until 5pm today. Due to this, Wandsworth Council is asking residents to take care when moving around the area.
Some parts of the city could experience up to 60mm of rain in the coming days, with most areas expected to see around 30mm of rain.
That, together with strong winds potentially up to 50 miles per hour, could potentially cause disruptions and pose danger to people.
There is also a risk of potential flooding which could mean some transport services are either delayed or cancelled.
The weather over the next two days could damage businesses or homes, and potentially lead to power cuts which could affect services.
Councillor Graeme Henderson, Cabinet Member for Health, said: “We’re urging people to please take care when they leave their homes today.
“We want people to be safe when moving around and keep an eye out for flying debris and strong floods which could pose a danger to life.
“Keep up to date with weather warnings and the forecast issued by the Met Office.
“Check what weather could be on the way before you go out and check on friends or family that may need help.”
