Saturday’s display is by Titanium Fireworks who have provided notable displays to such prestigious events as The Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve Celebrations and the Commonwealth Games. There is also a street food market and free live music and DJs.
Sunday is Family Night. Gates open at 5pm and there will be glow in the dark merchandise, sweets and treats, children's discos, shows, fairground rides and entertainment, including performances from children’s favourites Bluey and Bingo.
The event’s carbon footprint will be tracked, as many ways as possible found to minimise and reduce and all unmitigated emissions will be offset. No single-use plastic will be issued on site, and nothing will go to landfill. Guests will be encouraged to cycle to the event with a special bicycle park provided at Albert Gate.
Each year 5,000 Battersea Park Fireworks tickets are gifted to local children's services, emergency service staff and charity and community groups.
Deputy Council Leader Kemi Akinola said: “We are proud that Wandsworth hosts one of the best fireworks displays in London and I'm pleased that 5000 local people can enjoy this spectacular night for free, honouring our commitment to open up culture to everyone."
The event is delivered on behalf of Wandsworth Council by non-profit Enable. Battersea Park Fireworks ticket sales help Enable raise funds to deliver its charitable mission of enriched lives through investment in supporting active lifestyles, community events, and the improvement of natural habitats.
