Wandsworth 2025: London Borough of Culture bid

Wandsworth Council is leading the whole borough in a bid to win the title of London Borough of Culture 2025.

Our bid will build on the fantastic creativity found throughout the borough, from award-winning cultural organisations to freelance creatives and grassroots community groups.

Wandsworth is home to vibrant neighbourhoods and a thriving arts scene, and we want to showcase our borough's culture to London and the world.

Throughout this summer and autumn we’re listening to residents, community and voluntary groups, arts organisations, schools, businesses and other groups to help shape our bid.

Timeline

On Friday 9 June 2023, for the first time in history, we officially announced that we are joining the race to become the London Borough of Culture.

In November 2023 our final bid will be submitted to the Mayor of London.

The London Borough of Culture awards will be announced in early 2024.
