Improving biodiversity and green space
The UK is one of the world’s most nature depleted countries, its nature is only continuing to decline due to human activity and human-driven climate change.
Having healthy green spaces builds our resilience to the impacts of climate change and improves our health and wellbeing. It is also important that we recognise the intrinsic value of nature and our responsibility for its protection.
Roots & Shoots
Roots & Shoots is a global initiative that nurtures young people to be able to build a sustainable future through community-led conservation actions. They provide free resources and tools.
National Education Nature Park
The National Education Nature Park offers free resources to intergrade nature-based learning into the curriculum.
They assist in mapping your school boundary, identifying species, and finding opportunities to increase biodiversity. Children can then implement these changes and document their progress.
