Yoga and walk to Battersea Arts Centre
Kick off Refugee Week with a special event that draws attention to the week ahead and the installation at Battersea Arts Centre.
The day begins with a shared Live Karma Yoga session at 10am at the Doddington & Rollo Roof Garden. From there, a cape-wearing walk will journey through several Wandsworth Libraries, with stops for talks and refreshments.

Wandsworth Refugee Week Celebration
An evening of performances, food, community stalls and reflections celebrating sanctuary seekers and Wandsworth’s first year as a Borough of Sanctuary.
Enjoy music and dance from across cultures, sample food from community-led kitchens, and connect with local organisations supporting sanctuary seekers.

Shoe Box Dolls House Installation
A creative installation of miniature rooms inside shoeboxes, filled with images, objects, and stories reflecting refugee experiences of home and belonging.
Organised by Wandsworth Welcomes Refugees.

WNS Grant Writing Sessions
Join us over two weeks for an introduction to grant writing and funding applications, including guidance on successful DYCP, Arts Council, and National Lottery bids.

- Session two: Drafting proposals, budgets, and evaluations – bring a draft for feedback!

Join us to celebrate Refugee Week with a lovely picnic at Fred Wells Garden!
All families are welcome to attend and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon featuring performances, circus skits, and face painting for children. It’s a great opportunity to come together as a community.
