Warning issued to residents over phone call scam

Residents are being warned of scam phone calls from people pretending to be Citizens Advice.

The scammers will phone and claim they are looking to help with unsecured loans or financial vulnerability.

Advisers from Citizen Advice would never call you on behalf of the government and would never pressurize you for sensitive information.

What to do:

If you believe you have been a victim of this scam, report the matter online to Action Fraud or call 0300 123 2040 or visit the Citizens Advice website.

Never reveal your financial information over the phone.
