Simon Hogg answered questions from residents

The event, held on Saturday 22 February, was one of a series of drop-ins that happen monthly around the borough. Here you can discuss important topics, receive advice and support, find out more about Council services, plans for your local area, or share ideas for how to improve your neighbourhood.

Along with the Council Leader, you may also be able to talk to your ward councillors or and local MP, as well as representatives from Citizens Advice, Community Safety and various other services over hot drinks and refreshments.

Throughout the morning, residents raised a range of important topics, including the Council’s cost of living response, community safety, and fly tipping.

In reply, Simon Hogg spoke about the Council’s cost of living response, the most generous package in London, as well as the freezing of Council Tax for the third year in a row. To improve community safety, we’ve scaled up our CCTV network of over 1000 cameras, which has already helped prevent and solve major crimes. To keep our streets clean, we’ve introduced two free bulky waste collections per resident per year, expanded our popular monthly mega skip days, and have increased the daily street sweeping schedules across the borough.

Simon Hogg said: "Listening to residents is at the heart of everything we do. Today’s drop-in was a valuable chance to hear directly about what’s working, what’s not, and how we can make Wandsworth an even better place for everyone."
