Did you know, there are also regular repair cafes in Tooting (1 March), Southfields (26 April), and Putney (8 March).
Judi Gasser, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “Recycling is good, but reducing the amount of stuff we throw away is even better. Many items discarded because they are broken only need a minor repair to be as good as new.
“London Repair Week is a great opportunity to pick up new skills, connect with your community, and give items a second life.”
If you’ve got an item you don’t need, and don’t want to mend and keep, you can donate it to the Rework Workshop at Smugglers Way. There it will be repaired and passed onto charities. The workshop will accept the following items in good cosmetic condition:
- Home furniture,
- large domestic appliances / white goods,
- bicycles,
- sports equipment,
- Bric-a-Brac,
- toys,
- and tools.
