Sign of the times: Wandsworth’s streets refreshed

The project is a key element of our wider work to improve the borough’s streets. As part of our new 7 rings, 7 days guarantee, if you report graffiti, a damaged street sign or a dangerous pothole, we will fix it within seven days. This is part of our commitment to building and maintaining high-quality public spaces and ensuring residents can take pride in their neighbourhoods.

Jenny Yates, Cabinet Member for Transport, said: As a listening Council, we’ve heard residents say that safer, cleaner, and more easily navigable streets are a priority, so it was great to install this new ‘Welcome to Wandsworth’ sign in Tooting Bec.

“We are proud to introduce this programme of work, which will help everyone navigate Wandsworth more easily and to foster a sense of belonging in our communities. Our new 7 rings, 7 days guarantee means we will take swift action to repair, replace, or schedule the work needed to keep our streets in good condition, and we are proud to introduce this guarantee for our residents.”

This work comes alongside the council’s recent introduction of two free bulky waste collections per year for all households, the expansion of our Mega Skip Days, and ongoing commitments to our Cleaner Borough plan.

The 7 rings, 7 days guarantee was designed to make it easier for residents to get in touch and ensure faster repairs across the borough. Calls to our dedicated 020 8871 6000 number will be answered by a member of staff within 7 rings. A new email address – hello@wandsworth.gov.uk – is also available for residents to get in touch.
