The proposals are to replace some existing controlled zone ‘pay only’ parking bays with spaces that will allow customers of local shops and businesses up to two hours of free parking.
The changes are proposed for existing spaces in Atheldene Road and Vanderbilt Road – close to the junctions with Garratt Lane and its many local businesses.
These bays will allow free parking for two hours – with no return permitted for two hours - between 10am and 6pm Monday to Saturday and are set to be introduced following positive feedback from businesses in the area.
The changes are subject to statutory consultation which ends later this month.
Responses to the consultation can be emailed to the council’s highways engineers via trafficandengineering@richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk quoting W/ECS/TMO/1998.
