The ambitious Access for All scheme aims to break down barriers and make sure all residents have an equal chance to access local opportunities, including sports, leisure and other essential services.

These free holiday swimming lessons will equip young residents with essential swimming skills and promote water safety within the community.

The beginner classes run throughout the school holidays, including the upcoming half-term from 17-21 February. Each child will get five consecutive days of free 30-minute swimming lessons.

Judi Gasser, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “Swimming not only helps boost your health and wellbeing, but it is also an important lifesaving skill.

“No one should be excluded from learning how to swim and that’s what our Access for All scheme is all about, making sure everyone can benefit from the fantastic opportunities and facilities our borough has to offer.

“If you have a child in school years 2-7 who is unable to swim for 25 metres, please get in touch and book your place.”

The free holiday swimming lessons are available at Balham Leisure Centre, Latchmere Leisure Centre (Battersea), Tooting Leisure Centre and Putney Leisure Centre.
