Cllr Jeremy Ambache held a drinks reception in the Mayor’s Parlour at Wandsworth Town Hall to show the council’s support during Pride month and beyond. It was also an opportunity to say goodbye to Forum members who are leaving, and to welcome its new leadership team.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the Pride movement in the UK.

'Supporting Pride in London'

“It was fantastic to meet everyone last night and discuss how we can maintain and deepen this valuable relationship,” said Cllr Ambache.

“We will be supporting Pride in London and will illuminate the town hall and fly the rainbow flag during that weekend. I can assure the LGBTQ+ community that they will always have a strong and supportive ally in Wandsworth Council.”

The outgoing chairman of the Forum, David Robson, said: "I'm really excited for the new team to get stuck in and work with the new administration to deliver change on behalf of the LGBTQ+ Community of Wandsworth. The Forum is in safe and capable hands."

Giulia Tanasi and Julian Dineen are the new Co-Chairs of the Wandsworth LGBTQ+ Forum.

The Wandsworth LGBTQ+ Forum campaigns to raise awareness and promote the interests of LGBTQ+ people, provides services and support, and organises social events including a weekly coffee morning for the over-50s.
