Advance warning of gas main replacement work in Balham’s Bedford Hill

Residents and visitors to Balham town centre are being given advance warning of significant gas main repair works starting early next month which will affect travel plans and local bus routes.

Starting on Tuesday 2 April and scheduled to continue until Sunday 14 April – Southern Gas Networks (SGN) will be replacing a gas main in Bedford Hill.
This will involve the closure of Bedford Hill at the junction with Elmbourne Road throughout this time period.
Local bus services will be diverted and all bus stops in this section of Bedford Hill will be suspended. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained but through traffic will be subject to diversions.
Bus passengers can view details of bus route changes on the TfL website.
