Over 100 new bikehangars rolled out across Wandsworth

Wandsworth Council is delivering a major boost to secure cycle parking with the installation of 112 new on‑street bikehangars across the borough.

This significant expansion strengthens the fastest bikehangar rollout in London and supports the council’s wider ambition to make cycling safer, easier, and more accessible for residents.
Following a consultation period in late 2025, in which residents living near the proposed sites were directly contacted, the first of our latest phase of new bikehangars will be installed this week.
Jenny Yates, Cabinet Member for Transport, said:
“Expanding secure cycle parking is a key part of our commitment to making it safer and easier for people to choose active travel in Wandsworth. These 112 new units will provide more convenient, reliable places for residents to store their bikes close to home."
To date, the council has already installed 346 on‑street and 61 estate bikehangars, providing thousands of residents with secure storage for their bikes. Demand continues to grow, and this next phase aims to meet that need while encouraging more people to choose active travel.
In addition to the 112 new on‑street units, the council has also installed 12 new bikehangars on housing estates, helping ensure that residents across the borough have access to safe cycle parking.

The council reviews all requests and considers demand, location suitability, and feedback from neighbours when planning future bikehangar installations.
