The popular annual event is for job seekers of any age, or at any stage in their career. They can chat to companies from a range of sectors including retail, construction, the public sector, leisure, hospitality and social care.

And this year there was a focus on the environment, with a chance to learn about green skills and retrofitting.

In February Watch Match celebrated getting its 2,500th resident into a job. Zohra from Battersea got a job with Boots Beauty in Electric Boulevard, Battersea Power Station.

Leader of the Council Simon Hogg chatted to people taking part in the event

The Work Match team helps people access high quality training, employment support and local employment opportunities exclusively available to residents of the borough.

It also offers a free recruitment service for local businesses so that firms can find local talent on their doorstep.

Deputy Council Leader Kemi Akinola said: “Employ Wandsworth is a great way to meet local employers and find out about job and training opportunities, but if you couldn’t make it today, you can still get help.

“We want local opportunities to go to local people, so contact the team and have a chat about your options.”
