Talk rubbish, we’re listening: Tell us where you want new litter bins in your area

We all love our streets and spaces to be litter-free. That’s why Wandsworth Council is launching our Litter-Busting Listening Campaign – and we’re asking for your help.

If there’s a corner, park or pathway where litter keeps piling up, we want to know about it.
Get involved today and have your say:
- Suggest where new bins should go,
- vote for one of 50 proposed locations,
- help shape a cleaner Wandsworth.
It’s simple: you tell us where the litter is worst, and we’ll use that insight to install new bins this summer.
Council Leader Simon Hogg said: “We want to hear from you. Whether you want to suggest a spot, or vote for one of the 50 proposed locations for new bins, your input will help us target the right places to keep our streets clean.”
As a listening Council, we work closely with residents to shape the places you live, and to respond directly to the things that matter most. Having cleaner public spaces continues to be one of the biggest priorities residents raise with us, and this consultation is a chance for you to help make a visible difference in your local area.
Paul White, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “Cleaner streets are a priority, and we’re listening. This is about giving residents direct influence over how we improve our public spaces. We want to work with residents to create a borough we can all take pride in.”
The consultation supports our wider Cleaner Borough plan. As part of this plan, we have already guaranteed weekly rubbish and recycling collections, doubled the ever popular Mega Skip Days, and given every household two free bulky waste collections. We’ve also managed to deliver an extra 5,000 tonnes of recycling, improved street cleaning and expanded our free food waste collection service, all while maintaining the lowest Council Tax in the country.
These improvements have generated cost savings of £1.2million, which is being reinvested into making streets cleaner, such as installing these new litter bins.
Have your say by completing the consultation online which runs from Thursday 8 May to Wednesday 10 June.
