Festive events in local town centres

Look out for a Christmas event near you, with events planned across the borough’s town centres.

The fun kicks off this Saturday (16 November) in Battersea High Street. The Mayor of Wandsworth Sana Jafri will be there to switch on the Christmas lights at 3.45pm and there will be carol singing.
Other upcoming events will be held in Northcote Road, Roehampton, Putney, Wandsworth, Balham, Battersea Square, Southfields, Tooting, Furzedown, Roehampton and Wandsworth Common.

Deputy Council Leader Kemi Akinola said: “Come along, meet your neighbours and celebrate the festive season with your community.
“And please do your Christmas shopping in your local town centre this year. Online shopping may be easy, but if you use your neighbourhood shops you’re more likely to find unique gifts and you’ll be supporting local businesses. Look out for our Shop Local roundels in windows to help you find independent stores."
