About Oasis Thessaly Road – open space
This green space is next to the Yvonne Carr Centre at the top of Thessaly Road. The site covers an area of approximately 3,100m2 with a landscape of largely flat open space surrounded by a series of earth mounds and mature trees at around the site edges.
After years of being unkept, gated and locked, the site is being opened for community use, starting with a renewal project and engagement with local residents to shape its future.
Events
Local residents had the first chance to visit and explore the newly opened site on the Oasis open day on 7 June. The online survey on how local people would like to use the site remains open.
You can also share your thoughts at Happy Streets Festival on Saturday 6 July from 12 to 6pm. Pop down for free activities, performances, wellbeing taster sessions, food and refreshments.
The family festival is held across three venues in the Thessaly Road area, SW8 - the ROSE Community Clubroom and Ascalon ball court opposite, and the playground and hall of neighbouring St George’s Primary School.
