Booker BMW redevelopment planning appeal

A public inquiry is being held by the Planning Inspectorate into the redevelopment of a site known as the Booker Cash & Carry and BMW Car Service Garage located at 41-49 and 49-59 Battersea Park Road London SW8.

Inquiry background

Watkin Jones Group has appealed against the Council’s non-determination of the planning application for the:

Demolition of the existing building and construction of three new buildings (between 12 and 22 storeys in height), comprising 55 residential units (Use Class C3) and Student Accommodation comprising 762 student bedrooms (Sui Generis) along with 495sqm (GIA) flexible Commercial, Business and Service (Use Class E) and/or Local Community and Learning (Class F) floorspace with associated works including hard and soft landscaping, car parking, new vehicular access/servicing, and other ancillary works.

Date and time

The inquiry will start at 10am on Tuesday 29 April, and will be held in person from 29 April to 1 May 2025 in the Council Chamber at Wandsworth Town Hall. There is also an option for interested parties to join virtually.

The primary opportunity to speak will be on the morning of Tuesday 29 April, although the inspector will be considerate of any specific time constraints.
