Honeywell Infant and Junior School Street

A School Street has been operating since 12 October 2020 on Honeywell Road between Webb’s Road and Northcote Road.

Operating hours

Monday to Friday from 8.35 to 9.30am and 3 to 3.55pm, term time only. 

During the operating times people walking, scooting, using wheelchairs, mobility scooters and cycles (including adapted cycles) are able to enter the School Street.

Motor vehicles are prohibited during the operating times, subject to a limited number of exemptions.

How it works

• Signs notify drivers of the School Street operating times
• Retractable barriers and/or bollards are used to reinforce the School Street restrictions

Note: retractable bollards were installed at the Northcote Rd end of the School Street in July 2021. The map of the scheme has been amended to reflect this change and the potential to install bollards at the Webbs Rd end of the School Street, subject to review of usage.

Summary of the consultation results for Phase 2 School Streets

In September 2021, the Strategic Planning and Transportation Overview and Scrutiny Committee approved making the School Street permanent (Paper no. 21-236).
