Sacred Heart Primary School Street

A School Street has been operating since 12 October 2020 on Cabul Road between Wayford Street and Rowenna Crescent and on Este Road at the end T junction to the school. 

Operating hours

Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 9.30am and 3 to 4pm, term time only. 

During the operating times people walking, scooting, using wheelchairs, mobility scooters and cycles (including adapted cycles) are able to enter the School Street.

Motor vehicles are prohibited during the operating times, subject to a limited number of exemptions. 

How it works

• Signs notify drivers of the School Street operating times
• Retractable bollards and planters have been installed and are used to reinforce the School Street restrictions

Note: The map of the scheme and the scheme description for this School Street was amended on 29 January 2021 to remove references to planters. It was further amended on 28 September 2021 to reflect the installation of bollards and planters.

Summary of the consultation results for Phase 2 School Streets

In September 2021, the Strategic Planning and Transportation Overview and Scrutiny Committee approved making the School Street permanent (Paper no. 21-236).
