Early years and childcare

Information on childcare in the London Borough of Wandsworth.

Childcare, playgroups and activities

Children's Centres are free areas where you and a child aged 0 to 5 can play, socialise and learn together. Please ensure you check the timetable or give them a call to find out if their services are drop in, invite only or appointment bookings.

  • Check your local library to view activities and events
  • See if your child's school offers care
  • See local playgrounds

If you are looking for a childcare arrangement after school or during the holidays, there are several Ofsted registered after school and holiday childcare provisions in Wandsworth for children aged 3 to 13.

We offer an online booking service for the following centres:

After-school centre locations

  • Earlsfield Primary School, SW18
  • Smallwood Primary School, SW17
  • St Michael's CE Primary School, SW18

Holiday play provision locations

  • Smallwood Primary School, SW17
  • Christchurch Primary School, SW11

You have to register to book and pay for one of these centres.

In addition, there are other holiday play centres in the borough. These are either run by the school directly or have an outside provider who provides these. You should contact the provider directly if you have any queries or if you wish to make a booking.

Family Hubs

Family Hubs are a great place to go for a wide range of services and support for you and your family – all in one place.

We have the Yvonne Carr Family Hub in Battersea and the Roehampton Family Hub in Roehampton. We are also opening up a new family hub in Tooting in Spring 2025.
