Wandsworth Youth Mayor
The Youth Mayor and Deputy collaborate with The Mayor of Wandsworth, Wandsworth Youth Council and Wandsworth Children’s Services to align priorities for children and young people within the borough, while engaging with community organisations to highlight their work.
They champion youth causes within Wandsworth and empower young people by providing a platform to voice their opinions.
Youth Mayor 2023/24
The Youth Mayor elected for 2023/24 is Millie Quinn. The Deputy Youth Mayor is Favour Oniri.

Election process
The Youth Mayor and Deputy are elected from the existing Youth Council.
- Members of the Youth Council who wish to be considered submit expressions of interest
- Candidates create their vision statements for the mayoral year
- Youth Mayor hustings are held - candidates share their key priorities and answer questions from young people
- Youth Council members cast their votes
- Youth Mayor and Deputy are announced
- Official announcements take place at the Mayoral Ceremony.

Wandsworth Arts Fringe
5 June 2024
The Youth Mayor and Deputy attended their first event and gave speeches. This launch kick-started 17 days of brand-new theatre, dance, music, art and family events.
BATCA Fun Day/Multicultural and Multi faith festival
22 June 2024
The festival in Tooting was attended by our Deputy Youth Mayor Favour Oniri, providing an opportunity to learn more about the different local community organisations
Hazlefest, Hazle Hurst Estate, Tooting
23 June 2024
Deputy Youth Mayor Favour Oniri attended this arts and creative event alongside Mayor Sana Jafri. Favour gave a short speech to introduce the event.
VAWG Forum
8 July 2024
Youth Mayor Millie Quinn attended this forum to hear more about the work of the VCS, council officers and councillors who are committed to tackling violence against women and girls.
Live Step Festival, Britten Theatre, Royal College of Music
10 July 2024
Youth Mayor Millie Quinn attended this festival for young dancers hosted by the Royal Academy of Dance in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation.
London Para Youth Games award ceremony
22 July 2024
Deputy Youth Mayor Favour Oniri was invited to attend the award ceremony, where she presented the winners with their trophies.

Provided free meals and advice/support to local residents in Roehampton. The Youth Mayors spoke with young people from Roehampton’s regeneration forum.

You can request the Youth Mayor and/or Deputy to attend your event.
The availability of the Youth Mayors and Youth Council members is limited as they are still in full time education.
How to book
Complete the Youth Mayor booking form as soon as possible, and at least 14 days before your event. Return it to youth.mayor@wandsworth.gov.uk.
We aim to get back to you within five to ten working days, as our Participation Lead needs to speak with young people and gather their availability.
