Circular Economy Week from October 16-20 celebrates what is being done globally to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. If you want to get involved you can find out more and download a partner pack here.
Wandsworth’s commitment to tackle climate change includes the new Our Cleaner Borough Plan to make it easier and simple to recycle, including better recycling services, Mega Skips to reduce flytipping, better services for housing estates and food waste collections for all.
The council’s website also has information on other ways to donate goods for recycling and reuse, including the ReWork Workshop at the Smugglers Way Waste and Recycling Centre, local charity shops and online services like Wandsworth Freegle.
Judi Gasser, cabinet member for environment said: “We are doing all we can to make it as easy as possible to recycle, but it’s important that we all reduce the amount of waste we produce. Your waste could be someone else’s treasure so before you throw things away think about if they could be donated, mended or sold.”
