The annual event celebrates and supports women starting up and growing their own businesses. They can network, attend talks and workshops, share their experiences and get tips from top female business leaders.
Guest speakers included Apprentice winner and founder of Dough Bakehouse Carina Lepore, CEO of Shakespeare’s Globe Stella Kanu and editorial director of Stylist Magazine Lisa Smosarski. The female founders of Fullgreen, Ovum and Bouclème gave insight on taking brands from startups to supermarket success. Workshops included a non-techie intro to AI and tips on how to fast-track your networks.
This year Wandsworth is London Borough of Culture 2025, and the entrepreneurs were encouraged to find out more about how they and their businesses can get involved.
Opening the event, Deputy Council Leader Kemi Akinola said: “Here in Wandsworth we are incredibly proud to be home to so many talented and inspiring female entrepreneurs.
“As a council we are committed to empowering women with the tools and support they need to build and run successful businesses.”
Attendees said the event was ‘inspiring’. Anna Agyekum from On Point Property said: “Events like these are a great reminder that the highs and lows of entrepreneurship are all part of the journey. It’s always inspiring to connect, share experiences, and learn from other women in business.”
Women’s Enterprise Day is organised by the Council’s Economic Development Office. If you missed it, you can still contact the business support team for free advice. Visit the website.
Budding Wandsworth entrepreneurs from a migrant background can also sign up for a free business workshop on 31 March or 4 April. Find out more.
