St Anselm's Catholic Primary School Street

A School Street has been operating since 12 October 2020 on Louisville Road between Elmbourne Road and the car park junction on Louisville Road.

Operating hours

Monday to Friday 8.30 to 9.15am and 2.45 to 3.45pm, term time only.

During the operating times people walking, scooting, using wheelchairs, mobility scooters and cycles (including adapted cycles) are able to enter the School Street.

Motor vehicles are prohibited during the operating times, subject to a limited number of exemptions

How it works

  • Signs notify drivers of the School Street operating times
  • Automatic Number Plate Recognition Cameras have been installed to enforce the School Street and will be in use from January 2022

Anyone entering the School Street during the operating times in a motor vehicle without having obtained an exemption will be liable to a penalty charge notice at the rate of £130 (subject to a 50% discount if payment is received within 14 days). For more information see PCN charges.

Summary of the consultation results for Phase 2 School Streets

In September 2021, the Strategic Planning and Transportation Overview and Scrutiny Committee approved making the School Street permanent (Paper no. 21-236).
