Voting by emergency proxy
Apply for an emergency proxy vote
You may be able to apply for an emergency proxy vote if you can’t vote in person and you only became aware of this after 5pm on the sixth working day before an election.
Application forms for situations where emergency proxy voting is allowed can be found on the Electoral Commission website.
Your complete application must reach us by 5pm on the day of an election and can be submitted in one of the following ways:
- By email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- By post, or
- In person at the Customer Centre at the Town Hall
Your proxy must be registered and eligible to vote in the type of election in which you are voting. They must also be able to visit your allocated polling station on polling day between 7am and 10pm.
